Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon was formerly known Pa Kaew Temple. Then, in the year 1447, during the reign of King Ramathibodi I was renovated a temple. Later, in 1592, King Naresuan Created a larger Cheadi for celebrate the war on the backs of the elephants over Burma therefore named Pra Chedi Chai Mongkol. Later, the people called Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon and was called to the present day. Wihan Mongkol Bophit located in the south-west direction of Wat Phra Si Sanphet. Inside the building there is a large Buddha statue, 12.55 meters high and 8 meters wide, casting only one bronze in Thailand. It is expected that it was built in the reign of King Chaiyacha in 1538.
Phra Sri Sanphet Temple was built in 1448.This temple was the most important temple as The Emerald Buddha Temple because it is a temple in the royal court and used for performing ceremonies of the King in Ayutthaya period. In addition, this temple is considered the prototype of the construction of the Grand Palace and Wat Emerald Buddha Temple.
Wat Chai Watthanaram or Chai Watthanaram Temple was built in 1630 by King Prasat Thong created to dedicate royal merit to His Majesty at his own home.
