Koh Mak is located in the eastern Gulf of Thailand, 35 kilometers from the mainland, and is the third largest island in Trat Province after Koh Chang and Koh Kood. Koh Mak covers an area of 16 square kilometers, has 27 kilometers of coastline, several long sandy beaches and a few hills. The island is home to around 400 locals and is famous for its beautiful beaches, which were ranked in the top 10 most beautiful beaches in the UK by the Sunday Times in 2006.
