SDEKAN014: RIVER JOURNEY, CULINARY & CULTURES

08.30AM Pick up guests from Kanchanaburi town, proceed to Tha Muang district.

09.00AM Reach Maneewong House located by the River Kwai in a non touristic Area.This Thai sweets making family live in a 100 year-old traditional Thai-styled house in a nice garden surrounding. Greeted by local family, then getting to know some traditional Thai sweets that are still popular. Learn with the locals how to make it in traditional ways; i.e. using charcoals and traditional equipment.

11.30AM Gain more insight into Thai culinary by helping the family with lunch preparation and cooking. Enjoy authentic Thai lunch with the family; learning about Thai ways, beliefs and cultures related to food and eateries.

13.00PM Say goodbye and depart for Wat Ban Tham Temple.

13.30PM Upon arrival, start to climb up 400 steps to a cave on the hilltop, and enjoy a scenic view of the river basin, forming a massive rice planting area. This old The temple has dramatic dragon sculptures as a guardian spirit leading to the cave.

15.00PM Leave the temple and start a river cruise by long-tailed boat upstream to the River Kwai Bridge. Enjoy the spectacular view with limestone mountain backdrop, observe local activities and lifestyle while cruising along. At some point, the river is dotted with rafts, float houses and tourism related development that adds more colors to the river scene.

15.45PM Disembark at the River Kwai Bridge, then walk the bridge, learn its history, feel its feelings and pray, silently, to free the spirit of those who lost their lives because of this bridge, with love and compassion.

16.30PM Transfer back to Kanchanaburi town. End of Service.
