DAY 2: SIMILAN ISLANDS DAY TRIP

Itinerary:

Pick up from your hotel in Khao Lak Area:

To best avoid the crowds that the Similan Islands are infamous for, your pick-up time will be between 5:00 am and 5:30 am, depending on the location of your hotel in Khao Lak.

Enjoy a Light Breakfast at the pier before departure:

You’ll have the chance to enjoy a light breakfast and a cup of coffee or tea, followed by a safety and tour briefing at our private pier before departure. Then, you’ll embark on a scenic 75 minute cruise to the Similan Islands on one of our speedboats.

Explore Similan Island No.8:

Your adventure-filled day begins on the stunning white sand beach at Donald Duck Bay on Similan Island No.8. Hike up the trail to Sail Rock for a breathtaking and iconic view of the bay, a sight that has captured the hearts of countless visitors. Stand at the top of Sail Rock and take in the spellbinding panoramic view, feeling the refreshing sea breeze and the warm sun on your skin. Moments like this can make time stand still, creating memories that will stay with you forever.

Enjoy Time on the Beach:

If hiking to the viewpoint isn’t your cup of tea, you can kick back and relax on the beach, gear up and test out your snorkeling equipment, or plunge into the soothing waters of the Andaman Sea. Today, the world is your oyster, and the choice is yours!

first Snorkel Stop:

We do our best to avoid the crowds and find as serene an area as sea conditions allow for your snorkeling experience. The superb underwater visibility that the Similan Islands are famous for allows for a clear view of the colorful coral reefs teaming with vibrantly coloured fishes and invertebrates. Please remember to look at, but not touch, the marine flora and fauna. While looking for Nemo and other members of the anemone fish family, look into open water, from time to time, to spot barracuda and trevally cruising through the blue in search of their next meal. The water temperature hovers around 30˚C, and the underwater visibility is usually above 20m when the park is open. However, weather, visibility, and sea conditions may vary occasionally.

Second Snorkel Stop:

Different reef topography types and structures attract different fish species. Each location may have a different reefscape. Visiting a new location may bring forth fish and invertebrate species you may not have seen yet. Many fish and invertebrate species prefer to hide amongst and under the rocks, so look closely along the bottom to spot moray eels, dancing shrimp, starfish, sleeping blue-spotted stingrays, and much more.

Picnic Lunch on the Beach:

We stop on the largest of the Similan Islands, an idyllic setting for you to enjoy a Thai picnic-style lunch. We will arrive in time to avoid the overcrowding on the beach that Similan Islands No.4 is infamous for.

Free Time to Explore Island No.4:

After lunch, you will have free time to explore the island, swim in the tranquil waters, or simply unwind and get a tan on the beach.

Third Snorkeling Stop:

To ensure you have enough time to experience the marine life at the Similan Islands, we take you to a third location to snorkel at. If you feel you’ve spent enough time in the water. sit back and relax on the boat and take in the beauty of the Similan Islands above the surface. Otherwise, it is time to jump in! Fish and turtles move. Chasing them may only leave you exhausted and no closer to the animal you are pursuing. Instead, slow your pace and wait to see if the animal returns to where you first spotted it. It is common for reef inhabitants to have a territory they call home. The animal you were chasing will most likely return when it no longer feels threatened.

Return to the pier:

It is time to say goodbye to the Mu Ko Similan National Marine Park. After everyone is back onboard, the speedboat begins the journey back to the mainland, where refreshments await your arrival at the pier. Transit time back to the pier is around 75 minutes, depending on sea conditions.

17.00PM Return to your hotel in the Khao Lak Area:

DAY3:PHI PHI ISLANDS DAY TRIP

Itinerary: Program Time 04.00AM-17.00PM

Pick up from your hotel in Khao Lak area:

We will pick you up between 04.00AM and 04.30AM, depending on the location of your hotel in Khao Lak. Yes, it is a very early start, but it is simply the best way to avoid the massive crowds that flock to the islands daily!

Enjoy a light breakfast at the pier before departure:

Coffee, tea, and a light breakfast await you after an approximately 90-minute transfer to our private departure lounge. Following breakfast, you will receive a short safety and tour briefing before departure. As the sun rises, embark on a short speedboat voyage to the Phi Phi Islands. The average transit time from the marina to the islands is around 45 minutes, depending on sea conditions. Some 27 marine mammal species live in Thai waters, so keep your eyes open on the way to the islands. You may see dolphins, false killer whales, pilot whales, or even one of the giants!

Maya Bay at Phi Phi Leh:

No Phi Phi Island adventure would be complete without a visit to world-renowned Maya Bay, made famous by the Leonardo Di Caprio movie The Beach. Disembark from the boat and follow a short nature trail to discover the iconic beach at Maya Bay, which undeniably ranks amongst the most beautiful vistas on Earth! After you capture the perfect picture, creating a memory that will last a lifetime, hop back aboard and cruise to another location on our itinerary.

Pileh Lagoon at Phi Phi Leh:

Is this what Shangri La is supposed to look like? The producers of The Beach must have felt this way. Pileh Lagoon is one of the locations the filmmakers chose to captivate our hearts and open our minds to the possibility of a paradise on planet Earth. Plunge into the enchanting emerald waters at Pileh Lagoon, for what is truly a once-in-a-lifetime swim.

Sightseeing by boat at historic Viking Cave:

Sightseeing by boat, we will pass slowly by the historic Viking Cave. Best known for ancient wall paintings on the cavern walls and its current role in the swiftlet bird nest industry, this cave makes for a fascinating portrait of local culture and nature. The 400-year-old cave paintings, left by the crews of passing Chinese fishing vessels, are thought to resemble Viking ships, and why Viking Cave got its name.

Sightseeing by boat at Money Bay:

At the aptly named Monkey Bay, you can view macaque monkeys in their natural habitat near the shoreline. Being wild animals, these mischievous acrobats are viewed best from the safety of our boat. Make sure that you have your camera on standby and ready to snap some shots of some of our closest relatives.

Free time at Tonsai Bay or Hike to the Viewpoint:

It is time to choose your adventure! Tonsai Bay is the beating heart of the Phi Phi Islands, so go ahead and use this time to do whatever pleases you. If you have been waiting to capture the iconic picture overlooking Tonsai Bay, join your guide on a 30 minute hike up to the iconic Phi Phi viewpoint! From atop this panoramic viewpoint, one begins to understand why this is heralded as one of the most spectacular photo opportunities in the nation, if not the world! If hiking up to the viewpoint does not sound appealing, choose to walk around the village, check out the local shops, have a swim, or chill out on the beach.

Snorkeling at Phi Phi Don:

Donne a mask, snorkel, and fins, and take the plunge! For many tourists visiting Thailand, exploring the tropical reefs is of paramount importance for them. A veritable plethora of fish, invertebrates, sea-faring mammals and reptiles are just waiting for you to spot within the Mu Ko Phi Phi National Marine Park. All of the colors of the rainbow are awaiting you beneath the surface! Please remember what SCUBA divers often say, take only pictures and leave only bubbles. We supply you with well-maintained snorkel equipment, which is more than adequate for almost everyone. If you are not a strong swimmer, we advise you to wear a life jacket in the water. If you are an experienced free diver, you will likely have brought your equipment on holiday. We welcome you to bring along your equipment onboard. We ask you to avoid touching anything while underwater. It is for your safety and the protection of the local wildlife. All of our speedboats are fitted with a freshwater spray nozzle near the stern to rinse yourself or your equipment off after the snorkel session. Please feel free to do so.

Lunch on the beach at Bamboo Island:

Bamboo Island is a beach lovers paradise! Hence, we chose this paradisiacal location for a picnic lunch on a white sand beach. After lunch, you will have lots of time to relax, soak up some sun rays, or cool yourself with a refreshing swim in the warm tropical waters of the South Andaman Sea. Please note that the ability to stop on Bamboo Island is subject to weather and sea conditions. Your safety is our primary concern. We may alter the itinerary if prevailing weather or sea conditions make disembarking on the island dangerous or unpleasant. If conditions do not allow us to stop at Bamboo Island, we will visit a restaurant for a delicious lunch buffet.

Return to the pier:

As your day at the islands draws to a close, it is time to say goodbye to this island paradise. The speedboat journey home is an opportunity to discuss the day’s events with fellow passengers and newfound friends, or sit back, close your eyes, and relax. Please ensure that you have all of your possessions on the speedboat before we depart the islands and again when you disembark at the pier.

Return transfer to your hotel Khao Lak area:

After disembarking at the marina, we welcome you back to our private lounge. Our team of professional drivers will be waiting to take you back to your hotel in Khao Lak.
