Battambang or Batdombong (Khmer: បត់ដំបង) is a major food source of Battambang Province, the northernmost province of the Khmer Empire, once ruled by the Khmer kings. It is a popular rice-growing area, formerly a Siamese city, but is most commonly found here and continues to this day.
